New Life Baptist Church opened it’s doors for the first time on September 27, 2015. Our founding pastor, Dr. Chris Grimbilas had a burden for the Jay and Livermore Falls area that went all the way back to 2003, when he and his wife ran a bus route across the area that picked up people to go to a church that was miles away.
In 2012, Dr. Grimbilas tried to assist another church, Faith Way Baptist Church, to launch in Jay. Sadly, that church struggled, and eventually closed. With the help of a few men who joined Dr. Grimbilas after that closure, they reclaimed the building and prayerfully opened New Life Baptist Church as a ministry of New England Baptist Church of Medford, Massachusetts.
Today, New Life Baptist Church is a thriving, independent, Bible believing, Baptist church. With a vibrant, traditional music program, and preaching and teaching that is relevant and applicable to our day to day lives, it is a place where people are welcomed, loved, and lifted up. We point people toward Jesus Christ, who accepts us the way we are, but desires that we would grow closer to Him as we learn of Him. Prayerfully, the result is a ministry that seeks to glorify the Lord in all that we do. It is a simple philosophy that led to our purpose statement….. Preach the Word, Love the People.
