A Family Affair

A Family Affair

Think about this simple thought. Church is a family affair. Ministry is a family affair. Exodus 28:1 “And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.”

Our children never had to ask what we were doing on Sunday. It was always “let’s get ready for church.” For years Michelle and I ran a bus ministry…..together with our children. Church has always been a family affair. Serving the Lord has always been a family affair. As parents, we desired our children to follow  the Lord. Making that happen meant several things.

First, we lived it at home with family devotions and love expressed in our home. Next, we made sure we the kids enjoyed church and we took an interest in what they learned in Sunday School and Junior Church. Finally, we included our kids in serving God. Today, we have adult children who love the Lord, in church, and serving Him. It makes sense that the best way to pass Christ to the next generation is to make it a family affair.
