Did you look in the mirror today? Probably, when you washed your face, got ready for your day and so on. You probably did. Let me take it a little deeper. When you looked in the mirror, what person did you see?
Jas 1:23-25 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Did you see a person who would listen to the Word of God, or just blow it off, in one ear and out the other? Did you see a person who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him, or one who is content to live the day apart from God, doing whatever feels right?
The Bible says, “he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.” He is like a man looking in the mirror. What kind of person do you see in the mirror? Do you see a person who wants to hear the Word of God and live it out? Do you see a man who is a “forgetful hearer?
Let’s take minute to focus on the person we see in the mirror, and determine we will be a hearer and doer of the Word, one who will live this day for Jesus.
