Blessed Because Of Prayer

Blessed Because Of Prayer

As Christians, we are frequently reminded that we are supposed to pray. Why? God hears. God listens. God answers. We are commanded to pray. Jesus said “men ought always to pray and not to faint.” Yet, far too often, we just don’t pray, or we don’t pray the way we should.  Consider, then, this statement from Psalm 65:4. “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in they courts.”

When you got saved, God chose to allow you access to His mighty throne room. As a Christian, a child of the King, you have the privilege of approaching the Lord directly. Because you belong to Christ, you have a dwelling place in the court of the heavenlies.  Prayer is not something we have to do, it is something we get to do! It is our privilege to pray.

More than that, the Lord says “blessed is the man whom thou choosest and causest to approach unto thee.’ When we approach the Lord in prayer, God blesses us just for coming unto Him!  Just because we pray, we are blessed.  Not only does the Lord want to hear from us, not only can we bring everything to Him in prayer, not only will He incline His ear to hear us, not only are we commanded to pray…… on top of all of that, we are blessed just for the activity of praying unto the Lord our God.

Why, then, is it so very hard for us to make that time to approach God? Make time to stop, even if it is only for a moment, and pray. You will be blessed because of prayer.
