Seeking Wisdom

Seeking Wisdom

In 1 Kings 3:28, the Bible says that when the people of Israel looked at Solomon, “they saw that the wisdom of God was in him.” My thought for the day is that you and I can have the wisdom of God. It is written down for us in Scripture. Solomon penned some of that wisdom in the book of Proverbs.

The biggest challenge we deal with is not that we do not have the wisdom of God, but that we forsake the wisdom of God. How many who would call themselves Christians turn to the world for answers instead of asking God for answers? How many who call themselves Christians look to text books and self help books instead of God’s book, which is the best self help book available to man?

Let’s dig down a little further. How many spend more time listening to CNN, ABC, and the rest of the world’s alphabet soup media, but they are not interested in listening to the man of God? How many want to hear the latest political dirt on talk radio, but are not willing to be cleansed daily by the Word of God?

The Bible says in James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Why do we look anywhere and everywhere for wisdom except God, who has all the wisdom and is willing to give it to us? Let’s change out attitudes and look for the wisdom we need from God, the source of all wisdom. Solomon figured it out. We can as well.
