A Full Tank

A Full Tank

So much has been said about the price of gas in our economy. People have said that it costs them so much for gas that they cannot afford to go to work. People who used to fill their tanks cab now only afford a half tank of gas. You can’t keep on going if you run out of gas. The same thing is true spiritually.

So many of as Christians get weary in the battle that it seems impossible for us to go the distance, or stay in it for the long haul. It seems as if we had run out of gas. That, however, is not what the Lord needs, wants, or intends. He makes that plane in Scripture.

Zechariah 4:6 “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

We will certainly run out of gas if we try to do the things we do for the Lord without the power of the Holy Spirit, We we do is not by our own might, or our own power. If that is true, it will never last. It is by God’s might and God’s power, which comes to and through us by way of the Holy Spirit of God that we can keep going oj His behalf without running out of gas.

We need to have the power of the Holy Spirit if we are to keep running on a full tank.
