Are You Worth Beholding?

Are You Worth Beholding?

This is a familiar passage of Scripture. Peter and the Apostles had been put in prison for preaching. In the middle of the night, an angel opens the door and escorts them out of the prison. The angel leaves them with this command in Acts 5:20. “Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.” They do exactly what they were commanded to do. Just as the Jewish Council finds out they are not in the prison, word comes back that the Apostles are back in the Temple, preaching Christ. Acts 5:25 “Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.”

Behold! Check this out! You’ve got to see this! That’s the way this messenger starts off. The rest of the story is this. “The men you put in prison are back it, preaching and teaching in the Temple.” This man, this messenger, was shocked at the Apostles preaching in the temple! He declared, Behold!” In other words, he was telling the Council, “you’ve got to check this out and see for yourselves!”

So let me ask you this. Are you worth beholding? Would someone say of you, as you serve the Lord, “Behold!” Would someone declare, “Hey, you’ve got to see what this person is doing!” The next question is what are you doing for the Lord? These Apostles were sharing Christ at every opportunity.  Are you? Do we take the opportunity, when the Lord opens the door for us, to tell others about the Lord.

Let’s determine that we will be worth beholding on the Lord’s behalf!
