The song says “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Do we really get it when we sing it?
Isaiah 30:16 give us an understanding of how great of the solid rock Christ is for us. “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
As that Solid Rock, Christ is our foundation. Everything good and right in this life that we can build, we build on the solid rock foundation that is Jesus Christ. He is the Tried Stone that understands the trials we go through and He enables us to stand through those trials. He is our precious cornerstone who loves us as our precious Saviour. Our feet become planted on Christ a the Solid Rock as He becomes precious to us.
It is no wonder we sing that He is Solid Rock on which we stand. There is no other sure foundation that will carry us through!
