It is always right to show kindness to those who have helped you along the way.  2 Samuel 9:1 says “And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake.” David did not have to do this. When God looks at us, what kind of people does he see? In Judges 13, the angel of the Lord appears to the parents of Samson. Dad’s name is Manoah. We do not know mom’s name. We do know that, as a nation, Israel had walked away from God again. In Scripture, God gives us any reasons to rejoice. In the New Testament, we know the commands, “rejoice evermore,” and “rejoice in the Lord, always, and again I say, rejoice.” The book of Deuteronomy is just as clear.
